브라질 대통령 룰라, 국빈으로 한국 방문

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will visit South Korea as a state guest on the 22nd at the invitation of President Lee Jae Myung. The summit between the two leaders is scheduled for the morning of the 23rd.

President Lula will visit Korea for a three-day, two-night schedule starting on that day. This marks the first foreign head of state to be hosted by President Lee since his return to Cheong Wa Dae in December of last year, and President Lula’s state visit to Korea after 21 years since his first term in 2005.

The summit between the two leaders will discuss cooperation in various fields, including trade, climate, energy, space, defense industry, and science and technology. Notably, President Lee mentioned during a meeting with President Lula at the Group of Seven (G7) summit held in Canada last year that both leaders shared a background as former teenage workers.

The first ladies of the two countries met before the leaders. First lady Kim Hea Kyung visited Gwangjang Market with Brazilian first lady Rosângela Lula da Silva on the 21st to spend time together. They later visited the National Folk Museum of Korea in Paju, Gyeonggi Province.

 

 

루이스 이나시우 룰라 다 시우바 브라질 대통령이 이재명 대통령의 초청으로 22일 국빈으로 한국을 방문합니다. 두 정상의 정상회담은 23일 오전에 예정되어 있습니다.

룰라 대통령은 이날부터 2박 3일 일정으로 한국을 방문합니다. 이는 지난해 12월 청와대 복귀 이후 이 대통령이 주최하는 첫 외국 정상이자 2005년 첫 임기 이후 21년 만에 한국을 국빈 방문하는 것입니다.

두 정상의 정상회담에서는 무역, 기후, 에너지, 우주, 방위산업, 과학기술 등 다양한 분야의 협력에 대해 논의할 예정입니다. 특히 이 대통령은 지난해 캐나다에서 열린 주요 7개국(G7) 정상회의에서 룰라 대통령과 만난 자리에서 두 정상이 전직 10대 노동자 출신이라는 공통된 배경을 가지고 있다고 언급한 바 있습니다.

양국 영부인들이 정상들 앞에서 만났습니다. 김헤아경 영부인은 21일 브라질 영부인 로잔겔라 룰라 다 실바와 함께 광장시장을 방문해 함께 시간을 보냈습니다. 이후 경기도 파주에 있는 국립민속박물관을 방문했습니다.
