This indicates an intention to emphasize government involvement, but they did not specify which agency it was.
They also did not explain why they suddenly announced the investigation results, violating the emphasized "government directive."
Notably, there is a subtle difference between the Korean and English statements.
During the first consultation on the 1st, the English version stated that "the government approached Coupang," while the Korean version changed it to "meeting."
The phrase "the express direction of the government" in English was translated simply as "government directive" in Korean.
The level of involvement of the Korean government was expressed more strongly in the English version.
On the 18th, they also released a 19-second video and two photos showing divers retrieving a laptop from a river in China.
The filming location is reported to be Shanghai, China.
If Coupang's claims are true, it is possible that a government official participated in the local investigation in China, or that diplomatic pouches were used for the delivery of evidence like laptops, but further confirmation is needed.
