The Unhae Scholarship Foundation (Chairman Choi Pyeong-gyu) announced on the 23rd that it awarded scholarship certificates to 698 newly selected students at the Gyeongnam Changwon Convention Center, CECO. The total scholarship amount distributed was 5.335 billion Korean won.
The Unhae Scholarship Foundation is a public interest corporation established in 2013 with a total capital of 30 billion Korean won, with SNT Chairman Choi Pyeong-gyu, SNT Dynamics, and SNT Motiv each contributing 10 billion Korean won.
A total of 620 "Unhae Scholars," selected from outstanding science and engineering university students, each received 8 million Korean won in support.
Notably, the foundation newly established support programs for graduate students and students with disabilities this year. It selected three teams of graduate students conducting research in future core technology fields, including robotics, Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), and K-defense, and provided each team with 0.1 billion Korean won. Additionally, 75 students with disabilities enrolled in special schools received the "Happiness Scholarship," with each student supported by 1 million Korean won.
Since its establishment, the Unhae Scholarship Foundation has distributed a total of 16.7 billion Korean won in scholarships, with a cumulative total of 2,176 selected scholars.
Chairman Choi Pyeong-gyu stated, “I urge the scholar generation to boldly take on the challenge of constructing a ‘great Korea’ as First Movers in the fields of industry, national defense and security, advanced technology, and culture and arts.”
운해장학재단(이사장 최평규)은 경남 창원컨벤션센터 CECO에서 새로 선발된 학생 698명에게 장학증서를 수여했다고 23일 밝혔다. 총 장학금 배분액은 53억 3,500만 원입니다.
운해장학재단은 2013년에 설립된 공익법인으로, 총 자본금은 300억 원입니다. 최평규 SNT 회장, SNT 다이내믹스, SNT 모티프가 각각 100억 원을 출연했습니다.
우수한 이공계 대학생 중 선발된 총 620명의 '운해 장학생'은 각각 800만 원의 지원금을 받았습니다.
특히 재단은 올해 대학원생과 장애 학생을 위한 지원 프로그램을 신설했습니다. 로봇, 소형 모듈형 원자로(SMR), K-디펜스 등 미래 핵심 기술 분야에서 연구를 수행하는 대학원생 3팀을 선발해 각 팀에 10억 원을 지원했습니다. 또한 특수학교에 재학 중인 장애 학생 75명에게는 '행복 장학금'을 지급했으며, 학생 1인당 100만 원을 지원했습니다.
운해장학재단은 설립 이후 총 167억 원의 장학금을 지급했으며, 총 2,176명의 장학생이 선발되었습니다.
최평규 회장은 "학자 세대가 산업, 국방 및 안보, 첨단 기술, 문화 예술 분야에서 퍼스트 무버로서 '위대한 대한민국' 건설에 과감히 도전할 것을 촉구합니다."라고 말했습니다
